Potting shed and
Community hub.
We were approached by a local charity-run gardening group to design and build a structure that would serve both as a potting shed and a communal meeting space. It was to be used for their weekly gatherings and as a welcoming spot to share a cuppa.
All of the timber was locally sourced and milled within a 20-mile radius, supporting nearby businesses and reducing transport emissions. The foundations were made from compacted recycled hardcore, chosen to minimise the build’s carbon footprint and reduce ground disturbance. We also had the opportunity to install a composting toilet on site, further supporting the group’s sustainable ethos.
